Fashionography Edit: 67 EDIT

What I love about Hong Kong is the mix of high end and high street fashion that is so readily available to everyone. SoHo - which is one of the best places to spend a day just going through boutiques - is home to one of my latest favourites! EDIT boutique carries eclectic and edgy brands from across the globe.

Co-founder and buyer Genevieve Chew brings a fresh perspective by incorporating a mix of gorgeous prints, structure and fabrics. I walked into the boutique and fell in love with the table of jewellery and accessories - there is definitely something for everyone.

Check out what I wore! Everything is available at EDIT except the top (Zara) and shoes (Christian Louboutin) I am in love with the high waisted Ellery shorts. The layering and the asymmetry in the style make a perfect statement piece for the summer! Take a closer look at that gold clutch with the cork on top! (super cute!)

Pierre Hardy x NARS

Fashion designers have been collaborating with cosmetic brands for a long time, and one of my favourites is the recent launch of the Pierre Hardy x NARS collection. Comprised of four pairs of unique nail polish duo's that mimic Pierre Hardy's iconic shoes and two sets of blush palettes that represent the designer's signature print, this collection screams every beauty addicts dream come true.

What I love about this collaboration is that the attention to every little detail is impeccable. These duo nail polishes are packaged like a pair of shoes, with it's own luxury shoe bag - the name of the nail polish is also categorized as left and right! Drawing inspiration from Pierre Hardy's existing collections, the designer brings spot on colour blocking to nail fanatics everywhere. One of my favourites is the navy blue and bright orange combination (Ethno Run). The striking contrast brings out life and energy to your nails! I love the way the nail stylist painted my nails too (like the Kusama inspiration?).

These nails lasted a bit over a week, (and though some have reservations with dark colours because of staining problems) there was no stain on the nail when I removed the polish - yay! So after the week of funky nails, I decided to opt for a more simple design with the basic colour blocking with lilac and yellow combination (Sharks).

Another highlight of the day was that Marco Castro - François Nars' right-hand man and Penelope Cruz's go-to makeup artist did my makeup using their latest products from their summer collection! A story for another day though, so keep eyes out on my blog!

These limited edition Pierre Hardy x NARS products are available at the NARS' flagship at Pacific Place, Sogo, Langham and beauty counters in Lane Crawford & Faces.

Sneak Peek: Topshop Hong Kong

I was lucky enough to be a part of a selected group of bloggers and online media to get a preview of Hong Kong latest addition - TOPSHOP! The buzz has been going around Hong Kong for a long time now, and tomorrow at 5pm, they will open it's doors to the public! So what can you expect? Definitely a dent in the bank!

The 12,000 sq ft. two story flagship only carries womenswear for the time being - sorry dudes - with a great selection of shoes (!!), accessories, makeup and clothes! With so much merchandise, there were so many options and great finds, I really look forward to seeing some of the online merchandise in stores soon! Topshop has several pieces that are exclusive to Hong Kong - their sustainable fashion line, which has several printed items will definitely be a hit. Topshop HK will be carrying their Unique line, Boutique line, designer collaborations as well as their most popular denim and jeans collection!

Hong Kong's in house personal stylist gave us a little preview of the Autumn/Winter collections - straight off the runway, flown in from London! With a great selection of over coats with fur and shearling styled jackets, I am definitely looking forward to try some on!

There are so many things to look forward to for Topshop's grand opening! The first 200 people in line will receive an amazing goodie bag! Sir Phillip Green will be there at 5pm to cut the ribbon AND I hear a mystery celebrity will be joining the party!

In other news, Topshop will be opening a concession in LAB Concept later this year! Yay!

Just a few things to keep in mind when you're shopping, students with a valid student ID card have a discount! (totally forgot about it when I was paying for my haul) :(

Fashionography Edit: Lacoste SS13

Firstly, I got to give mad props to mother nature for finally bringing the sunshine to Hong Kong!

Lacoste has always been my go-to for classic polo shirts. There is some great colour and best of all, super comfortable, but recently, I was introduced to their shoe collection! They have such a versatile range, and most importantly, keeping comfort a priority. The white washed sport shoes with a silver stripe detail caught my eye immediately. I love that it can be paired with almost anything to create a cute and chic look.

Art Basel 2013 - Takashi Murakami Edition

I was beyond excited the minute I received an email about getting a sneak peek at the Takashi Murakami exhibition at Galerie Perrotin. Takashi Murakami is a household name for contemporary art and even more so, his alter ego Mr. Dob. For those who are more fashion forward, one of Murakami's most successful collaborations was with Marc Jacobs in designing the multicolour monogram and the eye-love series for Louis Vuitton.

Takashi Murakami brings a series of new paintings and a selection of his recent works to Hong Kong from the May 21st to July 6th. Using his signature colour palette, his new work maintains the recurring 'cute' and 'psychedelic' themes. As a person who loves the use of colour, I love the vibe that Murakami's work brings to a room, and this is an exhibition that I highly recommend. Of the several gallery previews that I have attended, this exhibition seems to have such a positive commotion and an energy that the artist himself brings in.

Alongside Murakami, Xavier Veilhan is also exhibiting an amazing series of never before seen mobiles of various shapes and sizes. The art installation uses such great space within the gallery, that it transforms it into an interactive piece.

Stop by the Galerie Perrotin at 50 Connaught Road, 17/F, Hong Kong for your dose or Murakami and Veilhan - its definitely one to put in the books.

Saint Laurent FW2013

When I headed down to Saint Laurent's showroom for their Fall/Winter 2013 Press Day, I was most excited to see some of the fresh off the runway designs by Hedi Slimane and one of my favourites from Saint Laurent - their accessories! Throwing back to what made the Saint Laurent brand - the iconic Piet Mondrian shift dress, they have revived this dress in leather and incorporated a stronger attitude and a rock n roll theme to the collection.

Filled with lace, leather, heavy embellishments, studs and pure goodness, the collection carries over from the 2013 Menswear collection that we saw in back in January. The very monotone colour palette was pitted against extremely unique detailing which brings these complex designs as the front runners this coming season.

The accessories, were definitely my favourite of the whole showroom - cases of statement necklaces and bangles floored me and the Mini Betty went straight to the top of my wish list. Along with their rock n roll inspired accessories, there was a softer touch to the collection. The Pastels in pink and blue were quite unexpected, but at the same time, it does bring the collection full circle.

One of my favourite menswear piece is their limited edition roller skates! How rad is that?!

Check out some of the collection below!

VIKTOR&ROLF Couture Comeback

Great news for fashionistas and couture lovers like myself! After 13 years of absence from the couture world, Viktor&Rolf have finally decided to bring their avant garde genius back to the runway this July at Paris Couture Fashion Week - having been voted in by the supervisory board of the Chambre syndicale de la Haute Couture. Their vision and complex designs - often focusing on the theatricality of fashion - have participated in 5 couture shows between January 1998 and July 2000.

I have always been a big fan of their exquisite eye to detail and everything the surrounds the Viktor&Rolf brand has their signature elements attached to it. I for one am beyond excited to see their couture collection this summer!

Little is known about how they will stage their comeback, but definitely keep your eyes out for the Fall 2014 couture shows that kick off on July 1st.
