Leather Forever - Hermès Exhibition

There's been a lot of buzz about the Hermès exhibition at PMQ and I think it's definitely one that's worth visting. Looking at the history of the brand and being inspired by it's exquisite craftsmanship. There are only a few days left to the exhibit, so be sure to head over there and immerse yourself in the world of Hermès.

There are so many treats in this two story exhibit - with several vintage pieces which are to diee for! After making stops in Shanghai, Rome, London, Madrid and Taipei - Leather Forever - will be here to stay till September 28th.

This exhibit is perfect for Hermès fans and fashionista's alike. To learn more about this exhibition, please check out lfe.hermes.com/hk and some pictures I took there! The exhibition is open daily from 11am - 8pm.

Helmut Lang x Uniqlo and The Best of +J

Uniqlo is on a roll!

Having announced a Helmut Lang collaboration (to die for) and bringing back it's signature +J (Uniqlo x Jil Sander) collection! Really there are no words for both collections, because the designs and silhouettes really do speak for themselves! We'll start off with the Helmut Lang collection.

Helmut Lang x Uniqlo
Available Sept 22.

Banking on this seasons top trends of "urban sweats", Helmut Lang menswear designer Alexandre Plokohov's sweat-styles are to die for. Following up on the Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration, our colour palette for the fall continues to go down the grey/black/white path. There is significant comfort in these designs, and can easily be dressed up or down - and whats best is the pricing! USD20 - USD60 for such a wide range of items including sweat pants/skirts.

+J x Uniqlo
Available Sept 29.

Jil Sander's first collection was such a success back in 2009. Uniqlo has decided to bring back runs of "The Best of +J" items from that capsule and reprising it's lux simplicity.

Alexander Wang x H&M

It's definitely been quite a long while, and there is no excuse for my absence here! :(

BUT - there are a few updates that I think will make up for it! Feast your eyes on the first looks of the Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration that we will be expecting in November! These editorial photos are featured in GQ & Vogue. Sticking to the brands identity and a minimal colour palette, this is one collection that I feel will be a huge hit - there are no patterns that will throw people off, and the silhouettes are so modern and wearable!

#ARMPARTY with Triwa

I have written a review about Triwa a while back and now have another opportunity to show you one of my favourite pieces from their latest collection! With the "armparty" hashtag going through the roof on Instagram, Triwa's Turtle Twist Brasco Chrono makes for a great item for styling. The double straps on this watch makes for great layering. A single strap may not be able to bring as much dimension to the outfit, but a double strap does make people curious (and trust me, I did have a few people ask me about it).

What I love about this watch is that it is such a versatile piece. The natural tones of the straps makes it easy to match and it is exactly how I styled it when I was in Singapore - I must add that it makes for a great travelers piece too. This unisex piece has been worn by many, and funnily enough, Hong Kong's own JJ Acuna (the Wanderlister) and I had our own clash of armparty.

Spinning has been one of the biggest trends lately and I have always thought about trying a class, but I never had the time or chance to until XYZ's media event! We got a glimpse of the hype, the energy and intensity of a spin class - it is definitely not for the faint hearted.

Located in the heart of central, this 48-seater neon lit room it all about energy. The flashing lights that are coordinated with fist pumping music makes you want to put 150% of your energy into the spin. Founder Belinda Koo ensures that each class brings a mix of intense cardio as well as entertainment. In the 30 minute trial class, every muscle was worked out and it did leave quite a few of us breathless.

I would've thought that I would be so exhausted from the spin class that it would discourage me from going back, but it was such an amazing workout that it made me feel great. I will definitely be going back & suggest y'all try it too!

Address: 2/F New World Tower II, 18 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong.
Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-9pm / Sat-Sun 10am-5pm

Christian Louboutin x Peter Lippmann

Peter Lippmann has done it once again by harmoniously bringing together the masterpieces of Impressionist art with Louboutin's SS14 themes. Drawing inspiration from the floral works of Van Gogh and Monet, as well as Louboutin's bold Spring palette, Lippmann brings a 'whimsical persona' to this season.

What makes this collection of portraits stand out, is the dynamic and complementary colours of both the SS14 collection as well as the individual art pieces - that sometimes acts as illusion or camouflage. The shoes themselves are considered as art, so it makes perfect sense for them to be paired (heehee pun intended) with masterpieces of a similar caliber.

Gareth Pugh FW14

It's been a helluva month - actually a lot of travelling done! If you've been on Instagram, you would've seen that I went to Vegas, Vancouver and have recently just come back from Paris - which is why its been a bit quiet over here - and then there's all the mayhem with fashion week & one of the collections that I've really been obsessing over is Gareth Pugh.

We were really brought to the future with his latest FW14 collection - and it's apparent in his the clean and mirrored colour palette. The futuristic silhouettes bring me back to Frank O Gehry, and the use of unconventional materials like plastic and a twisted trouser boot really brought the 'wow' factor this season.

Though the palette is simple, you can tell that theres a mix of fluidity and rigidity in his work - the mirrored outfits brought in sharp edges and the white & neutral items were more fluid with different layers of added texture.
