#ARMPARTY with Triwa

I have written a review about Triwa a while back and now have another opportunity to show you one of my favourite pieces from their latest collection! With the "armparty" hashtag going through the roof on Instagram, Triwa's Turtle Twist Brasco Chrono makes for a great item for styling. The double straps on this watch makes for great layering. A single strap may not be able to bring as much dimension to the outfit, but a double strap does make people curious (and trust me, I did have a few people ask me about it).

What I love about this watch is that it is such a versatile piece. The natural tones of the straps makes it easy to match and it is exactly how I styled it when I was in Singapore - I must add that it makes for a great travelers piece too. This unisex piece has been worn by many, and funnily enough, Hong Kong's own JJ Acuna (the Wanderlister) and I had our own clash of armparty.

YOU ARE XYZ

Spinning has been one of the biggest trends lately and I have always thought about trying a class, but I never had the time or chance to until XYZ's media event! We got a glimpse of the hype, the energy and intensity of a spin class - it is definitely not for the faint hearted.

video

Located in the heart of central, this 48-seater neon lit room it all about energy. The flashing lights that are coordinated with fist pumping music makes you want to put 150% of your energy into the spin. Founder Belinda Koo ensures that each class brings a mix of intense cardio as well as entertainment. In the 30 minute trial class, every muscle was worked out and it did leave quite a few of us breathless.

I would've thought that I would be so exhausted from the spin class that it would discourage me from going back, but it was such an amazing workout that it made me feel great. I will definitely be going back & suggest y'all try it too!

Address: 2/F New World Tower II, 18 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong.
Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-9pm / Sat-Sun 10am-5pm

Christian Louboutin x Peter Lippmann

Peter Lippmann has done it once again by harmoniously bringing together the masterpieces of Impressionist art with Louboutin's SS14 themes. Drawing inspiration from the floral works of Van Gogh and Monet, as well as Louboutin's bold Spring palette, Lippmann brings a 'whimsical persona' to this season.

What makes this collection of portraits stand out, is the dynamic and complementary colours of both the SS14 collection as well as the individual art pieces - that sometimes acts as illusion or camouflage. The shoes themselves are considered as art, so it makes perfect sense for them to be paired (heehee pun intended) with masterpieces of a similar caliber.

Take a look at other portraits from the collection!

Gareth Pugh FW14

It's been a helluva month - actually a lot of travelling done! If you've been on Instagram, you would've seen that I went to Vegas, Vancouver and have recently just come back from Paris - which is why its been a bit quiet over here - and then there's all the mayhem with fashion week & one of the collections that I've really been obsessing over is Gareth Pugh.

We were really brought to the future with his latest FW14 collection - and it's apparent in his the clean and mirrored colour palette. The futuristic silhouettes bring me back to Frank O Gehry, and the use of unconventional materials like plastic and a twisted trouser boot really brought the 'wow' factor this season.

Though the palette is simple, you can tell that theres a mix of fluidity and rigidity in his work - the mirrored outfits brought in sharp edges and the white & neutral items were more fluid with different layers of added texture.

Peter Pilotto for Target

It's definitely a little late to the game, but its always a good time to anticipate one of the greatest collaborations to date - Peter Pilotto for Target! I thought they wouldn't be able to top Phillip Lim, but this collection is very iconic of the dynamic duo. Though so many of us, won't be able to get our hands on the collection, but luckily, Target has teamed up with Net-A-Porter to give everyone a chance!

Take a look at the lookbook and some of the pieces I will get my hands on!

Last Minute Shopping Ideas

It's that time of year again and if your'e like me, you're always scrambling to find amazing gifts for your loved ones. Its hard to find gifts that are useful and trendy at the same time - good thing stores like Lane Crawford & CentralCentral are readily available for stressed out shoppers like us - and brings inspiration for some last minute shopping!

Here are some of my favourite picks for the holiday season!

Some of the biggest trends this season are embellishments and prints and what a great way to add some fun and style to your wardrobe. Even if you don't want to splurge on someone else, why not get yourself something special. You can rock the geometric embellished from 3.1 Phillip Lim, or glam it up with a bright buterfly print from Ella Doran.

If you're looking to score for some great deals that are equally as stylish and fabulous, CentralCentral is your answer. Carrying a huge range of brands like the newly rebranded EQIQ and everyones shoe favourite Steve Madden, CentralCentral makes for a great pitstop for trendy goods. Check out some of the Betsey Johnson items that I think would be great for the fashionistas of all ages! The 2 different earrings brings a youthful & experimental look which are huge pluses for the season!

Louis Vuitton Opens a New Store in Times Square! (Part I)

If you've been on Instagram lately, the big buzz around town is the opening of the new Louis Vuitton store in Times Square! There are so many great features about this new store and whats best is that it's targeting a completely new audience.

Focusing on the upcoming fashionistas in town, Louis Vuitton has curated their store and concept around the younger generation. A very modern and chic interior brings out the edgy yet minimalistic style of the fashion house. Sometimes pictures do speak a thousand words, and their latest concept that brings in the younger generation is a great way to update their brand and their image. If you haven't noticed, even their ad campaigns & product shots have been targeting the younger eye of fashion and art!

This is just a partial post, but take a look around the store!
